Níyó network is the not-for-profit arm of the Níyó enterprise brand. The current aim is to work with and mentor creative young women aged 16 -25 who are at the risk of being / are NEETs in Nottingham and the Midlands to create sustainable socio-creative enterprises.
There are various support networks, but very few that hone personalised advice and expertise to the individual.
The Níyó brand understands that empowerment is most effective when the service provided is tangible.
We want to give our selected demographic (BME Women who are NEET's) the opportunity for tangible help.
Teach & Train
As a result of our launch event 'Beyond Hair', we presented for young women to apply for £200 as well as 3 months mentoring to kick start their idea. The winner was a 17-year-old woman whom we have been supporting to create a cruelty free skin care subscription box business.. She is one of the many NEETs we want to help support.
A quality network is a powerful resource. We understand that most of us may not always know how to do everything, so, we are building strong network ties with other BME Women who can help support NEETs and young women we support on their journey to economic freedom.
As BME Women ourselves, our desire is to build more females entrepreneurs to own female led social enterprises. This would be one day require a home or space for us to engage clients and provide training. and necessary support to move forward.
